I really think you should allow yourself to ...Jon,

I really think you should allow yourself to indulge in writing a book about your life. Counting myself amongst the 2,000 students you've taught - I find it quite significant that you are the only educator in my lifetime so far who has managed to make me think of you not only as a brilliant professor but also as a humble, honest and translucent human being who is more than worth pursuing a friendship with.

In face to face conversations I've learned bits and pieces about your background, loves and just recently - sorrows. Reading just now more details and finally putting faces to these characters you've talked about makes your article that much more interesting to me.

I believe I have mentioned this to you before but just in case I haven't quite delivered my message clearly - I want you to know that I believe you are quite the fella. From the moment I walked into your classroom and experienced first hand what a class with Jon Beaupre is like to the last bite of a home cooked meal at your dining room table the everlasting sentiment you provoke in me is nothing but respect and admiration.

Cheers to many many many more years of Jon Beaupre.

See you soon!

Best,

Juancarlos RamosAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09779633566255764631noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33033269.post-28011351469945090402013-04-24T20:25:08.174-07:002013-04-24T20:25:08.174-07:00Happy Birthday Jon. I was thinking about you when ...Happy Birthday Jon. I was thinking about you when I walked to through the East Village to the subway tonite -how much, how fast things change. How old some days I feel, and other times still feel like I am at the beginning of another crazy journey, a newborn. How when I met you, you seemed so old and so wise, and yet you were really only 13 years older than me, but yet you were, that much older and wiser!! Can that BE?!?!?! I know I suck at math, but...13 years today seems like NOTHING! I see it with the little babies I teach, how the gap begins as a valley and narrows to a tiny crack.
Thanks for sharing your stories like you always have...totally digging your 80's look. Wish I had known your 2 dear friends, and had met the Colombian .I hope you will tour guide me through Paris someday on my first visit.
Happy Birthday!! xooxLoVE YOU!!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02374088926954005027noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33033269.post-24279094266905768302013-04-24T07:59:40.463-07:002013-04-24T07:59:40.463-07:00Wow. I am so glad that our paths crossed back at KPFK and that I had you as a mentor there. Because of you, I will never forget that "good enough for public radio is not good enough". I too miss CDT so very much and it was nice to read the special memories you shared.
May the years ahead be filled with even more special moments. You are an inspiration.Ken O'Malleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03324356912951854696noreply@blogger.com
